RE: Quickie Flush Works !

There is no reason you can't use the Quickie Flush or the Tornado as a Flush King. Just leave the drain valve closed and let the flusher fill the tank, then open the valve. Presto, everything runs out just like the Flush King. No need to have both.

RE: Quickie Flush Works !

Tornado is similar to Quickie Flush except that the sprayer spins inside the tank possibly giving better coverage, not to start another "which flusher is best" arguement.

RE: what brand would buy?

I am happy with my Four Winds. All brands have quality control problems, they seem to depend on the dealer to finish the manufacturing process and fix the little things that the factory didn't do. Make sure the floor plan suits you and make sure the dealer takes care of all the problems. Do a really through inspection before taking the MH off the lot.

RE: New flat screen TV for MH, strange channel numbers?

My converter box refers to RF channel and DTV channel. Our old analog TV station, channel 3, on HDTV calls itself Channel 3-1 but is actually on RF channel 53. In addition it broadcasts channel 3-2, it's own weather channel. Other analog TV stations are also on different RF channels, for example analog channel 5 is on RF channel 14. The box I have allows you to search thru the RF channels where you can correlate the RF channel to the previous channel number, which the stations are still calling themselves. It is confusing at first.

RE: strap down television?

I used the straps with the adhesive pads and one day we found the TV face down on the floor. After that the TV went on the bed. If you want to use the straps be sure to use screws.

RE: "Sanitary" gloves

Thank you PatJ. My DW has a very severe latex allergy and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. That said, it is unlikely that you would develop a latex allergy by using latex gloves only when dumping your black tank. It is usually associated with medical care people who are putting gloves on and off all day long. I would still avoid latex gloves, nitrile are much better.

RE: "Sanitary" gloves

How many of you know how to take your latex/nitrile gloves off without contaminating your hands by touching the outside of the gloves? If you don't, you are not doing much good by wearing the gloves. Personally, I use leather work gloves and wash my hands.

RE: Dumping grey water holding tank

We do our dishes in a plastic basin and dump the water down the toilet when we don't have a sewer connection. That will help some since the black tank always fills up slower than the grey.

RE: Need Generator for Class C

I have a Guardian in my Class C. I don't use it much, only about 25 hours, but I haven't had any problems with it. I don't know anything about the price.

RE: AVG Antivirus Help, Please

I have AVG 8 on my wife's laptop running XP and on my desktop running Vista. The Vista machine had a problem with Norton, it was never installed but their offer was on the machine when I bought it and I deleted it. I had to use the Norton uninstaller from their web site, then AVG 8 installed fine. Another problem was that I had to allow Zone Alarm to give complete access to all the AVG files. It works fine now. No problem with the XP installation. I recommend the AVG 8 forum for help.
By the way, they were both installed over AVG 7.5.

RE: Computer tracking question

I use "ccleaner" to get rid of all the junk. It allows you to specify which cookies you want to keep and let it delete all other cookies each time you boot up. In addition it cleans up all false registry entries and a whole bunch of other "junk".

RE: floor mats for chevrolet 06 3500 series chassis

I made my own out of indoor/outdoor carpet but it wrinkled badly. Finally taped some wire mesh onto the back and it has stayed flat but moves around some. I think a comercally made one would be better.

RE: Grrr, Oregon Gas Stations !

When I went to Oregon a few years ago I didn't know anything about the "you can't pump your own gas" law. I pulled up to the pump and some kid was there and he pumped the gas. When it was full I handed him my credit card but the computer wouldn't accept it because the amount was over the limit they would allow. By the time the whole thing got resolved the computer had crashed, had to be rebooted and they couldn't pump gas for about 10 minutes with the computer down. Fortunately the owner wasn't there and the kids were very polite. Next time I made sure the pumper knew in advance that I was paying by credit card.

RE: Coca-Cola 600 Race tire fly's off and hits pup camper!

It looked to me as if the tire pulled a section of the canvas out of the roof as it hit the pop-up. It may have lost some of it's zip but it still had enough to bounce higher than the PUP before it hit it on the way down.

RE: Suggestions for RV insurance

I have AARP thru the Hartford. In 2004 I totaled my truck and TT on the first trip. I was satisfied with their settlement although their rental car allowance was pretty chincy. Better price than Good Sam.

On my toilet I can hold the flush lever so that the flapper valve stays open and water runs into the toilet and into the tank.

RE: Blackwater Tank

Here is how I do it. This assumes you use your shower for the purpose intended. If you are in a CG for one night leave the valves closed then in the morning before leaving, fill the black tank to 2/3 with water and dump it, then dump the Grey tank. I don't like to travel with full tanks. For longer stays, leave the grey tank valve open until the day before you are going to dump then close it. Keep the black tank valve closed. When you dump, fill the black tank 2/3 with water then dump and dump the grey tank after the black. Whenever you dump, put a few gallons of water into both tanks after you dump.
Never leave the black tank valve open. The liquids will drain out and leave the solids in the tank.

RE: Excessive wire gauge wasts costly copper

Several things govern the required wire size. One is the current rating of the fuse or circuit breaker protecting that circuit. Circuits fused at 15 amps should be a minimum of #14 wire, 20 amps require #12 wire. If a partial short develops with a smaller wire size it is posssible that the wire could become too hot without the fuse blowing. In the case of 12 volt circuits the voltage drop is important. A larger wire size than the minimum may be required to reduce the voltage drop to an acceptable level.
If you want to replace the wire with a smaller size you should take these into consideration and change the size of the fuse accordingly and make sure the voltage drop is not excessive.
